Ocklawaha Prairie

This is one of our favorite spots to hike, bike and view wildlife. They have a great viewing platform and a boardwalk that goes out about 1/4 mile out into the marsh. Located Northwest of Orlando, it's highlighted in our wildlife viewing book, as well as our CFL biking book. It's a great day of viewing birds and wildlife, just don't grab hold of the railings. Lake Woodruff NWR is now open

Chris Friesen of DeLand advises that the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge in DeLeon Springs is now open for hiking, biking and wildlife viewing. Apparently the flood waters have finally receded.
He actually sent us a pic when it was flooded and that is included here. Thanks Chris!
Enjoy the newly re-opened dikes and trails.

TREK 4900 Mountainbike

We have two Florida biking books out; NE Fl and CFL. And all of the trails we rode in those books were done on a TREK 4900 mountainbike. (Well, "off road" bike to Floridians who have no mountains.) Anyway, we just wanted to give our TREK dealers who carry our books a plug. And, as this picture shows, the TREK 4900 is clearly a "chick magnet".
Don't see the chicks? Click on the pic.
Stay tuned.

Hello Florida!

My friends in Florida have felt slighted because we didn't have a Blog for them. Yet there are all kinds of things going on in the great Florida outdoors. So we have created this new Blog, just for you. And this "angry armadillo" to the left wants you to share this new blog with your friends and family who love to be outdoors in the great Florida weather.
