Fuzzy and Wuzzy

These young owlets were captured recently by photographer Chris Friesen near the entrance to Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge in DeLeon Spring, FL.

He dubbed them Fuzzy and Wuzzy!

Thanks Chris for sharing.

Bicycling in Florida

Hi to all,

Before it gets too hot to do much cycling, this spring is the perfect time to get out on those bike trails, both on and off road.

To help you, we have written two biking books; one for Central Florida and one for Northeastern Florida. The dividing line between the two is Route 40.

You can learn more about our books and the trails at: http://rogerfulton.com/ecotours/FLBooks/fltrailguides.htm

Enjoy the season!

Springtime in Florida!

Luckily not all of the trails in our books look like this one. Most are MUCH safer. But always use cautions on any trail. If you are not comfortable in any given situation, turn back.
And, this would be one of those situations!
Best to all of my Florida friends,

As always, Roger

Yearling Trail, etc. Reopened

From Deb Blick of FTA,
The Florida Trail within the Juniper Prairie Wilderness, the Yearling Trail, and the Juniper Canoe Run have reopened. These recreation areas were closed during the Juniper Fire which started on March 10, 2009. Forest Service personnel canoed Juniper Creek Canoe Run and hiked the Yearling Trail and the Florida National Scenic Trail yesterday and deemed them safe for visitors.
