Trout Lake Nature Center - presentation and hike

On Friday night, 3/16, at the Trout Lake Nature Center in Eustis we will present an overview of our 110 miles of hiking trails we completed in the Ocala National Forest last winter. We'll cover a variety of trails and habitats in our 45 minute Powerpoint presentation. You'll be surprised at what is in your own backyard! It's all based on our newest book about our travels in the forest.

Then at 4 pm on Saturday, 3/17 we will lead you on a 2.5 mile hike from Clearwater Lake on Route 42 down to a unique habitat area of the Red Cockaded Woodpecker and an interesting 12 story firetower. A secondary trek down to a unique Florida "bluff" and an embedded Gopher Tortoise burrow is optional.
